How we count
كيف نعدّ
Quran numbers spread fast online. We recount each one from the source text, word by word, and show you every verse behind it, so you can check it yourself.

Where the words come from
من أين نأخذ النص
- Arabic text
- Uthmani script, Hafs reading, from the Tanzil Project, copied verbatim. Tanzil places the Bismillah at the start of the first verse of each surah; we show verse 1 without it, as it is not part of that verse's numbering (except in Al-Faatiha).
- Words, roots and lemmas
- Quranic Arabic Corpus v0.4 (University of Leeds), in the corrected fork by mustafa0x, pinned to one version.
- English
- Saheeh International, named on every verse.
- Fonts
- Amiri and Cairo, under the SIL Open Font License.
